New Paintings and Upcoming Shows

NOW SHOWING:  I have a show at the Bar Harbor Savings & Loan bank in Bar Harbor (103 Main Street) from now (June 12) through the end of July.  I like showing in public spaces because it gets art out to people who may not seek out a gallery.  There are some boats, cairns, and a fawn.  The show is open during regular banking hours – 8:30 to 4 Monday – Thursday, and until 5 on Friday.  Check it out!

‘Birch Trees near Witch Hole Pond’ is a new painting for the Mount Desert Land & Garden Preserve’s art auction ArtWorks!.  The painting is a view that I never tire of while skiing around the Witch Hole loop.  Those cold days with the sun shining are really special for enjoying Maine in winter.  The auction is being held this year at the Gallery at Somes Sound in Somesville, August 9 – 11.  Information can be found at the Land & Garden Preserve website: and look under Events for ArtWorks!

‘November Apple Tree’ is another painting for the ArtWorks! show.  All the leaves had fallen and the yellow apples on the ground and left hanging in the tree made a beautiful composition against a backdrop of bare purplish trees and bushes.

‘Moon Gate’ will be showing at Redfield Gallery in Northeast Harbor during the month of August.  Rita Redfield is closing her doors after 40 years of bringing art to Mount Desert Island.  Her August show is most, if not all, of the artists that have shown with her over the years.  Her dedication to art will be celebrated!

Finally, I will be showing at the Salty Dog Gallery, Main Street in Southwest Harbor in September.  Stay tuned for details!
